Ciara was born in Charleston SC in 1993. She was the youngest of her family full of creatives. At the age of twelve she was enrolled in an art therapy course, and was taught how to use art and crafting as coping mechanism and finally a way to share her voice.
In 2020 as an adult with depression/anxiety, quarantined during the pandemic Ciara reached to find her voice again. Armed with a washables Crayola watercolor set and a book of Canson watercolor paper. Three paintings later she made her first paid commission. Finding direction in such a chaotic time, she leaned into art, and invested in professional level paints and brushes, and art books.
During that time, Ciara bloomed. She thrived in the creativity and was happier than she had been ever in her adult life. She decided her only path moving forward was to use her art to try and inspire others to plant their seeds of greatness and bloom. With that, Bee Batty studio was born.

By 2025 CC took on a new exploration in her creative journey, in the form of ekphrastic poetry. She created a collection of art and poetry entitled “Dark Corners” , an exploration of limerence. That series was quickly followed by “daybreak” which was a deeper dive into the grieving process of heartbreak. CC continues to use watercolor, gauche, and acrylic mediums to explore her poetry to it’s full depth.
